$75,000 Settlement In Washington Parolee Sexual Assault Suit
In 1993 the Washington State Department of Corrections gave Melanie W.
Watters a $75,000 stipulated judgment for being raped by George M. Boggs,
Jr., who was a parolee from the Washington State Department Of Corrections.
On March 16, 1991, the plaintiff was abducted from a tavern in Olympia, WA,
and taken to Boggs' home where he repeatedly assaulted and raped her. The
parole officer was negligent in the parole supervision of George Boggs and
as a result Ms. Watters was raped. She filed suit in 1992 and was awarded
the above stated damages. Plaintiffs were represented by Seattle attorney
Mark Leemon of Castle Schnautz & Hilfer, P.S. Attorneys At Law. See:
Watters v. State Of Washington; Thurston County Superior Court Case No.
