Parolee Negligent Supervision DUI Death Suit Settles for $6,000
possession of drugs. Upon release from jail the final time, she was
supposed to report to a probation officer within 24 hours. She never
appeared and remained at liberty. On December 2, 1999, Enoch-Jeune
borrowed her mother's truck and, while under the influence of alcohol or
drugs, struck Michael J. McGuire with the truck, killing him. McGuire's
estate filed a negligence suit in Pierce County Superior Court. Alleging
claims against Enoch-Jeune for negligence and a claim against the State of
Washington for failing to devise, implement and enforce an appropriate
parole plan for Enoch-Jeune. On December 2, 2002 the State of Washington
settled for $6,000. The McGuire estate was represented by the Messina and
