Washington DOC Pays $1,063.49 to Settle Slip and Fall

On August 7th, 1997, Alvinia Lott, an employee for the Department of Corrections, fell on the gravel at Clallam Bay Corrections Center in Clallam County, Washington, while leaving work. Lott, then 65, complained that there was no hand rail to grab onto at the time of the incident. As a result of the occurrence, Lott suffered bruises and other injuries sustained to one of her hands her feet, legs, and arms. Lott also missed eighty hours of work, as she had to take time off due to the injuries. The State of Washington paid Lott $1,063.49 to settle the claim.
