$1,000 Settlement in Lost Property

Washington State’s King County Jail has paid $1,000 to settle the lost property claim of Sophie Evon. When transferred from the Jail to prison, the Jail was unable to locate Evon’s property. Missing were two gold 24 k bracelets, an 80-year-old gold wedding band, ½ kt diamond engagement ring, omega watch, silver and brass bangle bracelet, clothes and identification papers. The property went missing on October 17, 2007. Acting pro se, Evon settled the claim on January 9, 2009. The documents related to this claim are available on PLN’s website.
