$1,500 Settlement in Overdetention Claim
Washington State’s King County Jail has paid Kenneth L. Hoeck $1,500 to settle a claim that he was overdetained by 10 days due to the failure of jail officials to award him good time on his 60 day community custody violation sentence. In response to his grievances, he was told that no good time is given on such sentences. As a result of this improper policy, Hoeck’s release date of June 3, 2001 was extended to June 13, 2001.
Acting pro se, Hoeck settled the claim on October 11, 2001. The documents related to this claim are available on PLN’s website. See: In re Hoeck, King County Claim No. 30278.
