$3,500 Settlement in Failure to Disclose Public Records

Washington State’s King County paid $3,470.70 to settle a lawsuit claiming a violation of Washington’s Public Disclosure Act. The suit was filed on behalf of Dionne Credit, who sought copies of the internal investigation of the April 4, 2004 assault of her 16-year-old daughter, Diondra, at the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention by guards.

Represented by Hank L. Balson of the Public Interest Law Group in Seattle, Credit settled the action on June 16, 2006. The documents related to this case are available on PLN’s website. See: Credit v. King Co. Dept. of Juvenile and Adult Detention, King Co. Super. Ct., No. 05-2-16532-4 SEA (2006).
