$5,000 Settlement for Improper Property Release by Seattle Jail

Washington State’s King County paid $5,000 to settle the lawsuit of Mick Robertson, who claimed that when he was arrested in December 12, 2000, he possessed a banker’s box that contained automobile titles for Greenlight Auto. The assault charge Robertson was arrested on related to a dispute over the ownership of the box. Despite telling Detective Hewitt the box was his, Hewitt released it to Leigh Robertson, who converted the property without Mick’s knowledge or consent.

Represented by Tacoma attorney John Grosecluse, Mick settled the case on June 24, 2003 for the county’s liability in releasing his property. The documents related to this case are available on PLN’s website. See: Robertson v. Robertson, et al., Pierce Co. Supr. Ct., No. 01-2-06867-7.
