$7,000 Settlement for Injuries Incurred During Seattle Jail Bus Accident

Washington State’s King County paid $7,139.98 to settle the claim of Quincy Aitkens, who was injured on October 17, 2002, while riding in a King County Corrections Bus. While on the way to the Kent Regional Justice Center, a mentally ill woman on the bus defecated on herself, creating a disturbance on the bus. The driver activated the bus’s emergency equipment and as it went through a red light it was “t-boned” by a Puget Power van.

The accident injured Aitkens’ neck, shoulder and back. Represented by the Bradley law firm in Seattle, Aitkens settled the claim on July 9, 2003. The documents related to the claim are available on PLN’s website. See: In re Aitkens, King County Claim No. 32591.
