$131,000 Verdict for Florida Man Bitten by K-9 Dog
A Florida State Jury awarded $131,250.08 to a man who was attacked by a K-9 chasing a suspect.
As he was assisting a friend on June 4, 2010, to cut his grass, a City of St. Petersburg police dog that was chasing a suspect attacked Keefe Harden. He was bit numerous times.
Harden sued the City for negligence and strict liability, which was voluntarily dismissed prior to trial. The jury’s January 15, 2015, verdict found The City negligent. It awarded Harden $19,750.08 for past medical expenses, and $69,000 for past pain and suffering.
Attorney Tony Griffith represented Harlan. See: Harden v. City of St. Petersburg, Florida Pinellas County Circuit Court, Case No 12-1686-CI-15.
