$20,000 Settlement in Slip and Fall on BOP Property

The federal Bureau of Prisons paid $20,000 to settle a Federal Tort Claims Act action for a slip and fall injury.

Wealth Liggins alleged that on November 21, 1993, she was an invitee on the premises of the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, when she slipped and fell, causing “diverse injuries to leg and other parts of her anatomy.”

Represented by Lexington attorney Charles A. Taylor, she filed her complaint on October 1, 1996.  The parties reached the $20,000 settlement on March 15, 1999.  See:  Liggins v. United States, USDC, E.D. Kentucky, Case No 96-CI-424.
