Trio of Guards Fired and Arrested for Smuggling at Louisiana Jails

A rash of smuggling at Louisiana jails put at least three guards in handcuffs in less than a month, beginning on April 17, 2025. That’s when 18-year-old Bossier Parish jailer Colton Davis was arrested on two counts of malfeasance in office and two counts of introducing contraband into a correctional facility. He was also fired from his job at the Bossier Parish Correctional Facility, where he had worked since October 2023.

A similar fate befell Assumption Parish jailer Ali Gant, 27, on May 13, 2025, after surveillance video captured him smuggling a paper bag into the lockup, and investigators determined that the bag was soaked in K2 synthetic cannabinoids. He had worked at the lockup since November 2024.

The very next day, on May 14, 2025, Calcasieu Correctional Center guard Dalronique Q. Ross, 20, was also fired and arrested on charges of malfeasance in office, criminal conspiracy and introduction of contraband into a penal facility. Tipped-off investigators began the prior month to look at her as the mule responsible for K2-soaked papers that made their way into the lockup. Her bond was set at $50,000.
