1. Please provide the following:
a. Please detail every court settlement and court judgment (verdict)
(whether in Cook County Civil Court or Federal District Court)
resulting from a lawsuit against the Chicago Police Department or
any of their agents from Jan. 1, 2006 – Dec 31, 2006. Please detail
the following for each case:
i. Case number
1. Please state which court the case was tried in.
ii. Amount of settlement or verdict
1. Terms of payment if not paid out in one sum in the
calendar year of settlement or verdict.
I am requesting a fee waiver, fast track, and expedited treatment because the subject
concerns a matter of exigency to the public and news worthiness about what the
government is doing. This statement of compelling need is true and correct to the best of
my knowledge and belief. Please telephone me if I can clarify or expedite this request in
any way. I expect your organization to fulfill this request in a professional and organized
fashion and in the 7 working days allotted by Illinois law.
The Act requires the fullest possible access to public records. Denial of any part of this
request be accompanied by a written statement of exactly what is being denied and the
specific reason subject to judicial review. The law also requires that if part of a record is
exempt from disclosure, you must redact and release all segregable parts.
Sincerely,
Tracy Siska
