Armed Man Subdued by Taser Deployment
Western Leon County- A Tallahassee man was arrested charged with Aggravated
Assault and Resisting Arrest with Violence.
Shortly after 11:30 PM Leon County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a residence in
the 3100 block of Tyflin Drive reference a disturbance. Upon arrival Deputy Kevin
Cox found a man lying in a grassy area. Witnesses reported to Deputy Cox that this
subject had just threatened another man with a knife and had cut himself in the head
with the same knife and also smashed beer bottles against his head. According to
reports the subject had visible injuries to his ear.
Deputy Cox attempted to take the subject into custody; however, a physical
confrontation ensued. According to reports the subject swung punches at Deputy Cox
during the confrontation. As other deputies arrived, Deputy Charles McClure utilized
a Taser and immediately was able to restrain the subject.
The subject, identified as Marco Hernandez 21, was then taken into custody without
further incident. He was booked into the Leon County Jail. He remains there without
bond.
