$12,500 Paid in WA Retaliation Claim By Guard

Donald Baker was an employee at Airway Heights Corrections Center when he
requested a transfer to another position within the Washington DOC. He was
advised by Associate Superintendent Larry Hines that he would be considered
for a transfer only if he had "no L & I claims open." Baker filed a claim
for this retaliation for having an open L & I claim with the Office of Risk
Management. On January 17, 2002, that claim was settled for $12,500. Baker
was represented by Richard Hughes of Seattle, WA. See: Donald Baker,
Division of Risk Management, Claim No. 31053611.
