$50,000 Paid in WA DOC Employees Sexual Discrimination Suit

Ruth M. Klepach, an employee at a Yakima County Washington Department of
Corrections Facility, filed suit alleging she was discriminated against on
the basis of gender in the course and scope of her employment. The
complaint, filed in Yakima County Superior Court, alleged the State of
Washington issued a report with "specific findings that the conduct
complained by the plaintiff constituted sexual harassment and/or
discrimination." The unspecified conduct occurred between 1990 to 1993, and
the suit was filed in 1995. On June 12, 1996, Klepach agreed to settle the
suit for $50,000. She was represented by David H. Putney of Yakima. See:
