$7,701 Paid in WA DOC Employees Discrimination Claim
Management alleging that the assistant director of the office of
Correctional Industries stated she got pregnant in order to take advantage
of the state system and medical benefits and he also made derogatory
comments about blacks. She was denied a wage increase, threatened with the
loss of her position and subjected to discriminatory statements due to her
sex and pregnancy. On November 11, 1998, the office of Risk Management
issued her a check for $7,701 to settle the claim. See: Stacy Sund, Claim
No. 31035268-01.
