$20,000 Settlement in Discrimination/Hostile Work Environment

Washington State’s King County paid $20,000 to settle the discrimination, hostile work environment and retaliation claim of Jameelah Cage, who alleged guard Burnis Jones sexually harassed her while she worked at the Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention in April 2005.

The February 16, 2007 settlement pays Cage 13,813.13 and her attorney, Maria Lorena Gonzalez of the firm Gordon Thomas Honeywell, $6,186.87 in attorney fees. The documents related to this claim are available on PLN’s website. See: In re Cage, King County Claim No: 40902.
