Texas Jury Verdict Finds Civil Rights Violations but Awards $0 for Assault

Texas prisoner Frank Guerro was assaulted on December 2, 1995, by prison
guard Antonio Torres, who stuck Guerro, causing a large and painful bruise
to his right ribs. He also alleged other guards assaulted him on December
25 as he left the prison lunchroom.

An October 20, 1997, jury verdict found Guerro's civil rights were
violated by Torres, but did not award him monetary damages. See: Guerro v.
Torres, USDC, WD TX, Case No: unknown.
