$28,000 Settlement for Jail Prisoner Assaulted by Guards

Washington State’s King County Jail has paid $27,909.78 to settle the excessive force suit of Bradley D. Needleman. His complaint asserts that on May 19, 2003, he was assaulted in the jail by guards “John Doe” McKinly and Noah Wittner. As a result, Needleman suffered a broken left scapula, broken ribs, swollen lungs, head injury, back injuries and facial bruises and swelling. His medical bills came to $6,200 and his shoes, shirt and earring were lost or damaged as a result of the incident.

Represented by Seattle attorney Douglas E. Wilson, Needleman settled the claim on September 21, 2006. The documents related to this claim are on PLN’s website. See: Needleman v. Wittner, King Co. Supr. Ct., No. 05-2-14988-4-SEA.
