My book will be edited from anonymous questionnaires and personal interviews to combine the coping techniques of hundreds of individuals. As a writer and spouse of an incarcerated man, I am putting together a book to help people deal with the problems involved in having a loved one in prison. Through the initial detainment, trial, jail time and resulting imprisonment, the family on the outside first goes through shock and denial, but must, finally, come to the reality of the daily struggle to survive outside, provide for their family and to maintain relations with their loved one in prison while facing the yawning years ahead. How do they do it?
